New Friends Club of Frederick is primarily a social group. Promoting friendship is our goal. We also support humantiarian projects in the Frederick community through our annual fundraisers where all proceeds are donated to a local charity.

- March Luncheon Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 Location: Dutch's Daughter 581 Himes Avenue Frederick, MD 21701 Time: 11:30 AM Join us at the beautiful Dutch’s Daughter restaurant for a delicious buffet lunch. All-inclusive cost: $32 per person. The buffet features: Dutch’s Chicken, Barbecue Beef, Tossed Garden Salad and Rolls, Rice Pilaf, Seasonal Vegetables, Lemon Chiffon Pie and Water/Iced Tea/Coffee/Tea. Please have your check in the mail to arrive by the March 1st reservation deadline. If you have not received an email from Pat McCargar saying your check has arrived by March 3, email Pat at patmckent2@comcast.net. (If you know your check will be late, please email Pat to reserve a seat; unexpected checks received after 11 a.m. on March 1 will go on a wait list.) Our luncheon guest speakers are Pat Bradshaw and Cheryl from The Friends of CAC, an all-volunteer non-profit organization that supports the work of the Child Advocacy Center (CAC). CAC serves the needs of abused children in Frederick County and aims at preventing child maltreatment; last year, it served over 300 children. Friends of CAC extends those services, helping to raise self-esteem and providing comfort ranging from karate, music, art and tutoring programs to comfort blankets, gift cards and holiday meals. They also maintain the Healing Garden, a park on West 2nd Street that is a memorial to children lost to abuse as well as a place of peace and refuge.

- Heartley House Gift Cards - Easier Than Ever to Donate During our monthly luncheons, a basket near the entrance is always ready to receive your gift card donations to Heartly House. At our April luncheon, for your convenience, $25 and $50 gift cards for groceries or gas may be purchased by check or cash. Look for Diane Ivins at the entrance to purchase the card(s). (This is made possible under a Clustered Spires Chorus program.)

Celebrating March Birthday Girls
All you Pisces and Aries birthday gals are invited to join a celebratory lunch on March 5th at 12:30 p.m. at the Showroom restaurant hosted by former New Friends President Laura Hart. Meet other March celebrants at a table reserved just for the New Friends birthday gals. Separate checks. The celebration includes a sweet complimentary birthday treat!
Showroom is located at 882 N. East Street, Frederick, and features plenty of parking.

'Almost Spring' Happy Hour!
After all the cold, snow and ice, we are all ready for spring! Please join us just a day before Spring Equinox for Happy Hour on Wednesday, March 19th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bentztown located at 6 South Bentz Street, Frederick. Parking is available on the street or in the Patrick Street garage.With a “Nashville inspired food and drink” menu, you can enjoy “whiskey Wednesday” specials or a variety of other cocktails ($6 or $7), wine, or beer selections. Bentztown also offers appetizers or a full meal. Stepping out to Leesburg Spring Flower Festival
Join us on Sunday, April 27th for the Leesburg Spring Flower & Garden Festival followed by lunch at Tuscarora Mill Restaurant. Embrace the spirit of spring in historic downtown Leesburg, with incredible landscape displays, vendors selling flowers and live plants, gardening supplies, and everything imaginable involving outdoor living. Enjoy music, 120+ vendors and a wine/beer garden. Pre-lunch nibbles range from popcorn and crab cakes to ice cream and funnel cakes.The event starts at 10 a.m. We will carpool to Leesburg, stroll the streets and then lunch at the sprawling new-American cuisine Tuscarora Mill Restaurant (www.tuskies.com). Holiday Trip to Nashville
A festive holiday trip to Nashville is set for December 12 to16, 2025 and you can learn all about it at our March luncheon. Travel agent Jayne Bongard will discuss the 4-night excursion that includes flights, transfers, hotel and a variety of shows and tours. Jayne will provide details about the itinerary, costs and answer any questions.Participation is limited to 40 New Friends members and their guests, so share the word and sign up soon. This fun trip is also a fundraiser for Heartly House. Be on the lookout in a few days for a Blast with a detailed flyer about the trip. __________________________________________
