Welcome to New Friends Club of Frederick, Maryland

Whether you are new to Frederick or entering a new stage in life and looking for something exciting to do, New Friends of Frederick offers an open door to making new friends and finding activities to enjoy. 

New Friends of Frederick is primarily a social group.  Promoting friendship is our goal.  We also support humanitarian projects in the Frederick, Maryland community through our annual fundraisers where all proceeds are donated to a local charity. 


Golfers will be heading to the Greens on the second Thursday of each month.

Location:  Dobbin House Tavern 
89 Steinwehr Avenue, Gettysburg, PA 17325

Directions:  Rt. 15 North to Gettysburg.  Exit at Steinweher Avenue to Business Rt. 15 North.  Follow for 6 miles.
Go through first traffic light.  The Dobbin House Tavern is on the left.

Luncheon Speaker

Our own Hilary Moore will give a presentation on Teas and Tea Parties. 
What a perfect kick-off for our new "Out for Tea" activity.  We will have tea cozies, donated courtesy of 
our New Friends Stitchers, and tea accoutrements as our centerpiece giveaways on each table.
Hilary is leading our eclectic year of program topics that will
include Holiday Ideas, Radio Personalities and Traveling Safely and In Style.

*** Voting for a Charity at the October Luncheon Meeting ***

   Three charities have been selected for your consideration. If you are not able to attend the October Luncheon Meeting,
a ballot is included in the newsletter which you can use to vote for your favorite charity. You may mail you ballot to Karin at the
address listed in the Newsletter.  If you send your ballot by mail or with a friend, your ballot must be signed.
  Please vote for one of the following three charities: 

Heartly House:  The mission of Heartly House is to 1) end domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse,  and 
2) to provide victims with safety, shelter and supportive services.
Mission of Mercy: To restore dignity and "healing through love" at mobile clinics, providing free health care and medications.
SHIP (or Student Homelessness Initiative Program)SHIP is a non-profit community organization that addresses
urgent needs of Frederick County Public Schools students encountering homelessness.

If you are a new member who did not attend a New Member Luncheon last spring or if you became a new member as of June, 2016 or later,
please plan to attend this fun welcome activity.  This will be a special time for new members to hear about the New Friends Club of Frederick
meet others who help in organizing / leading club activities and be officially welcomed to the New Friends Club of Frederick.

 Toby's Dinner Theater for the Matinee Showing of  "Sister Act"
Location:  Toby's Dinner Theater, Columbia, Maryland
Date:  Sunday, October 2
Time:  Carpool departing from New Market Park & Ride at 9:30 AM and returing at 5:00 PM
Cost:  $55.00 (Inclusive)
Brunch served buffet style and includes salad bar, bakery, dessert, coffee, tea and iced tea.  Full service cash bar is available.
Doors open at 10:30 AM.  The show begins at 12:30 PM.

This is a Chocolate Tea with traditional teas as well.  Chocolate and many chocolate confections.

"Warning - Frederick's Dead Do Not Rest." Most popular walking tour in Frederick for 17 years.

Date:  Thursday, October 20
Time:  7:00 PM  for Ghost Tour and
8:30 PM Cacique Restaurant for Dinner/Late Snack at 26 North Market Street, Frederick

Meet in front of Brewer's Alley for a 90 minute or 1.2 mile leisure walk.

Cost:  Tour cost is $11.00 adults or $9.00 for Seniors $9.00
