Welcome to New Friends Club of Frederick, Maryland

Whether you are new to Frederick or entering a new stage in life and looking for something exciting to do, New Friends of Frederick offers an open door to making new friends and finding activities to enjoy. 

New Friends of Frederick is primarily a social group.  Promoting friendship is our goal.  We also support humanitarian projects in the Frederick, Maryland community through our annual fundraisers where all proceeds are donated to a local charity.

A Tour of Historic St. John's Cemetery
and Dinner at Ragin' Reef

Learn all about a hidden Frederick treasure - St. John's Cemetery.  Nancy and Chuck will guide you through
this historic site. 
Founded in 1845, St. John's is the final resting place for veterans of every American conflct
since the French and Indian War as well as for governors, senators, judges and famous locals. 
Nancy  and Chuck are ready to share tales of all the fascinating people who are interred at St. John's Cemetery.

Location:  "I MADE THIS"  Paint Your Own Pottery Studio
10-B North East Street, Frederick (behind Talbots)
Appetizers and Drinks at Ayse Meze Restaurant 

Date:  Thursday, October 3, 2019
Time:  4:30 for Appetizers at Ayse Meze
6:00 to 8:00 PM for Painting Pottery

New Friends will meet at the Paint Your Own pottery Studio for an evening of painting pottery! 
No artistic skills required.  All paints and brushes are included in the price of the pottery item you select.
The studio will glaze and fire your creation and call you when it is ready for pickup.  


We will have a private room at the studio.  Seating is limited to 24 people at the pottery studio.   
You may bring snacks and drinks. 

  For those who want to nosh on appetizers and drinks, come early and meet at nearby
Ayse Meze Restaurant for their Happy Hour beginning at 4:30 PM.

Autumn Glory at Longwood Gardens

Kennett Square, PA
Cost:  $60.25 per person

Cost includes round trip bus transportation, entry fee for Longwood Gardens and
bus driver gratuity.  Garden tour is self-guided.  Lunch at the Cafe is not included.


We are delighted to announce a bus trip to Longwood Gardens on Monday, October 7, 2019. 
Enjoy the sights and sounds of Longwood Gardens featuring 
"Autumn Colors." 
Indoor and outdoor foliage and fountain displays resonate throughout.
The bus will depart at 8:30 AM and return by 6:00 PM. 
Club members, spouses, family friends and friends are welcome to participate.

Hiking Club

Now that cooler weather is on the way, we hikers will get moving again ! 
We will soon begin scheduling hikes based on the 10-day forecast, so keep on the
lookout for future events.  If you would like to join our group and

Flash From the Past
The September 2009 luncheon was held at one of our favorite places - Morningside Inn. 
Two new activities were announced:   Bon Appetite and Out & About
We lamented the passing of a dear friend, Peggy Peer. 
The Day Away was at Cordell Gardens in Greencastle , PA and featured 6-foot tall geraniums. 
Planning was underway for a Prom at Ceresvile Mansion in 2010.
